Green Collar Agritech Team Learning from Customer Interactions

Green Collar team interacting with customers

For a business of any size, success depends on customer perception of the value its offering adds to customers' business. We have heard this multiple times.

But how do we inculcate this grounding truth into an organization's culture. The leadership team of Green Collar believes that every employee needs to think customer value in everything they do as part of daily activities.

For a company like Green Collar, which is a deep-tech company bringing mutliple aspects of engineering, technology and science functions together, starting from our Analytical Chemists in the chemistry lab, to the Opeartions personnel, to the Software engineers, to the electronics team and the Data Scientists - how do we make sure that customer value in end product gets ingrained into every task we do? And customer value perception is not a sales team imperative?

We achieve this by grabbing every opportunity to put our team members in front of customers - they interact with customers first hand, they demonstrate our innovative product TARAM to customers, they explain to customers the most critical aspects of their job functions. Going one step further, they also ask customers questions about what additional features they would like to see in TARAM and our product roadmap, about how TARAM can add value to their businesses..

Recently we had a couple of opportunities to get such valuable interactions with existing and potential customers. And needless to say, the entire team enjoyed the "outings" !!

Customer team visit to our office and lab

The first was when one of our existing customers wanted to visit our labs recently - the customer team ended spending up almost the entire day with our team, in our lab, going back impressed with the capability of our team. But more importantly, one of our data scientists, our operations team and our lab analysts - all of them had in-depth discussions of how they are solving the specific problem for the customer, with TARAM, what tweaks they can do to make TARAM more suitable for their requirements and so on. Overall invaluable learning from the rich and involved discussions.

Tamil Nadu Agricultural and Horticultural Department Expo, Erode

The second instance, which was a fun-filled occasion for our entire Erode team, was when they spent one day explaining the features and capabilities of TARAM to prospective customers and users in the agri exhibition held in Erode recently. Our team experienced first hand, the overwhelming interest of farmers, agriculture department officers, university professors, FPOs towards TARAM and its applicability to their businesses and professions. In addition they also got to see what a typical agri exhibition looks like and who are the value chain players in agri and agri-processing industry.

The team also got the opportunity to exhibit and explain about TARAM in the agri-marketing department concept space as well as in a Turmeric focused stall created by the Erode district horticulture department, which resulted in many more interactions with agricultural practitioners

Our team also got the chance to welcome a very special guest to our stall Thiru A V Gnanasambandam, MD and CEO of ABIS TBI, TNAU, where Green Collar is proudly incubated and take his valuable feedback on stall display and product.

Our team truly cherishes such experiences and the learning that comes from these interactions.
